So I'm sittin' here listenin' to The Flametrick Subs and reflectin' on the fact that I'm on my way out of this fine, fine city of Chicago that I spent so many years trying to move to ....
But that's another, darker tale that I don't want to get into just now, no sirree Bob.
Nope. Instead, it's time to look to the Future, not the Past. Like our old friend Dylan sang, "the times, they are a-changin'," and although he was talkin' about somethin' different, it still fits as far as I'm concerned. I'm not happy about leaving Chicago, I'll tell you that, but it's something I Have To Do -- if for no other reason than I just don't know when I'll get another chance to live in London for 9 months. So why pass that up? Chicago will change, just like everything changes, but it'll still be here if I come back to it. Some of the faces will change, some of my haunts will change, but it will still be Chicago ... and it's not like the Chicago of now is just like the Chicago I first saw in 1992 when I was up here doing relief work in the inner city, anyways.
That's just the way of things -- they change. That's called life, and I don't want this city to die any more than I want to die myself, so I won't begrudge it going through its natural order of things.
And what the Hell am I talking about, anyway? Enough of that nonsense.
Alright, folks -- here's the challenge I'm laying out for ya: Figure out what you want, and take a step towards it by the end of this week. I don't mean you have to figure out your whole life plan, I'm just talking about figuring out something that you want to do with yourself or change about your life, and start makin' it happen. Good luck .... it's ugly out there when you start takin' chances, but it's worth it in the end, I promise.

Do you have any idea what you're doing after London?
