Rocked a pretty decent cookout at my old roommate's place today. Kind of a small affair; normally I'd have invited you all, but A) it wasn't my cookout, and B) they wanted to keep it small.
Next time, I'll just ask him to host a cookout and I'll invite everyone I want.
Was still pretty chill, though -- an old buddy of ours recently moved back to town from NYC. I hadn't seen this dude in 8 years, so it was fun seeing him again. I forgot how nutso he is, though. Still, good times.
I made a huge wicked bowl of ceviche -- I used over 3 pounds of scallops, shrimp, and whitefish, plus the requisite red onions, garlic, cilantro, serrano, and some olive oil and raspberry vinegar. My first time to make the stuff, but everyone loved it. Rock.
The new lady friend came along .... that was cool. Wonder where all that's going -- but what the Hell, we enjoy each others' company, and that's enough for now. She split straight for home when we left my boy's joint, since it was after 10.30 and she has to get up at like 5.30am or some silly shit, for work. Harsh.
But I'll be joining her on that timetable as of tomorrow night -- I start working at 7am the following morning at the country club.
Yes, indeed, little monkeys, life is turning upside down, bit by bit.
And, you know, it's probably about time.
