i had something to say earlier but i've forgotten what it was.
listening to louis armstong's "satch blows the blues" today. it fits my mood.
i'm bummed cuz i think we (my biz partner at my recording studio and myself) finally have a solid business plan to make some money from this joint, but our financial situation is getting so close to busted that i don't think we can keep the place open long enough for those plans to work out and make us some money. looks like we're going to close the doors in february. i'm pretty upset about that. we'll keep the gear and set it up in his house and use it there but still .... such a waste. this studio space is so amazing -- it was designed in 1973 by some famous acoustic engineer guy, it's a huge space and extremely well-built. some guy approached us about buying a third stake in the place, which would have been great, but then he backed out. he is still helping us with some marketing stuff, basically working for free, which is cool, but doesn't pay rent.

jab:
i don't know all the details of course, but depending on how long you think the break b/w now and making some cash is, maybe you can squeak it through. i'd hate to see you let it go when you don't really want to. then again, with leaving town and all it may be something that's better to be done and done before you leave. seeya tonight.
