got to chicago 2 hours late thanks to snow, but dollface and i braved the weather. nothing was to deter us from monday night at the rock & bowl. then, on to the golden nugget pancake house, since i hadn't eaten anything since around noon yesterday, to fill up on greasy diner food. home around 3.30a i think? up at 8a to move the car .... pickings for a space were super slim when i got home, and i wasn't sure if i was parked legally or not. there were a lot of confusing signs around. so i moved it to somewhere that wasn't suspect after some dummies left the neighborhood to drive to work.

agenda for today: belmont & clark area for some new boots (my beat-ass old docs have large holes, bad for snow use). best buy for a cable router / wireless hub, to get the home network going in full force.

update:
new boots acquired and comfy. wireless router obtained, home network working with no problems. all is happy in chi-town.

rant:
why the fuck doesn't doc martens make their old style boots anymore instead of just all these goofy new boots they make now? i've been wearing those fucking things for 15 years, and i really don't want to switch, damnit. i had to buy *grinders* which look just like docs more or less but with different soles. they are comfy but that's beside the point. i want my doc martens!

side note:
interesting characteristic about having a long goatee in the snow is that, the thing collects snow as it falls, which then melts thanks to body temperature, then freezes due to wind when the water from the melted snow rolls down the whiskers, leaving you with frosty crunchy bits in your beard. highly entertaining. i recommend trying it out to anyone capable of growing 3+ inches of whiskers.
