So I went to this show at the Double Door tonight, a bunch of local chick-bands, or at least, they all had chicks in the bands.
First band, the Burden Brothers, I missed -- and that's fucked up, cuz they're from Dallas, like me. But so it goes. The second band, the Krunchies, was pretty bad ass, I liked them a lot. The third band, the Paperbacks, I saw a few months back, and they were okay but not great. After that was the Paper Bullets, who dollface has been bugging me to go see, and they fucking ripped. Seriously, that was a fun set. Then Vicki played, and as they were on their second song, and I was on my way out due to time constraints (as I have homework to do tonight and wanted to roll through the bar tonight), I looked over at the merch booth where the Burden Brothers from Dallas were selling t-shirts and cd's and decks of cards and other assorted nonsense, I spotted a familiar face. Yep ... their road manager is a guy I used to go to shows with a couple times a week back about 15 years ago, and I haven't seen the dude in at least 5-6 years. So of course I went and talked to him for a while, and we exchanged numbers. The band is supposed to come back through in a few months, so I'll try to catch them and him when they do that. Crazy shit -- I love living in a small world.
So then I went to the bar and had a couple more glasses of whiskey and then drove home this girl I have a huge crush on, before coming home myself and spewing all this nonsense out for you cats to read.
Alright. Homework or sleep? Time (not very much of it) will tell.
