went to see dj shadow last night. i'm not into dj shadow -- as a matter of fact, i'd never even heard dj shadow before last night. but it was my friend blake's birthday and that's where he wanted to go, so i coughed up the $26.50 at the door to celebrate my man turning 28. alright. well the opening act was a hip hop group called oddjobs. they were actually pretty cool - fun vibe from those cats. shadow himself didn't do much for me - i mean, i can admire the man's skill at workin' the tables, but i can't really sit there and just watch/listen to that for a really long time. blake bailed early cuz he had to work at 8am, so we adjourned shortly thereafter to the more comfortable confines of the meridian room and caught up on the baseball scores. yeah, that's right, we made them turn off theVCR and set it to ESPN.
