a few years ago, my company had a 401k plan, and i was putting a little cash into it. then we got bought by another company, so they ended our 401k plan, and sent us all checks to roll over into a new 401k with the new company, but i never actually did it. they sent me a check, but i never cashed it, and eventually lost it.
well, today they sent me a new check, since i never cashed the old one, and it's gained a little value over the years, while it's been sitting there gathering interest.
bottom line .... $4000 in the mail today
couldn't have come at a better time
