Thinking of writing a book about bad first dates. See my new comment? It's inspired by a bad first date I had some years ago: I met a girl at a restaurant for drinks and conversation, and I was feeling it, man! Over the moon and all that, yeah? And she says we shouldn't do this again because she's sort of a lesbian, but not sure, and I was the girliest guy she could find. So yeah, that happened. All people should be equipped with gaydar, but I don't have it. If I did, I wouldn't get hit on by so many gay men. C'est la vie, eh? I really hope some people actually read these; they seem funny to me!
Still no job, but I had a gig for a while, canvassing for a guy who had never been involved in politics who was running for city council. We lost. But it was an awesome ride. I got to be my old Jewish "Yosef," complete with yarmulke, for the campaign, trying to mobilize the Jewish vote in my area. It got me feeling good about being a Jew, at least until I ran into a few close-minded, willfully ignorant families. Sometimes I miss faith, and then I remember my old friend reason. A wise man once said, "oh joy and rapture, I've got a brain!" All I have to do is use it.
For all you religious types, have an easy fast. As for me, I feel like a bacon cheeseburger would be great right around now ...
