Today, I wrote software in five different programming languages (C++, C#, SQL, Java, and PHP for the nerds among us). None of the programs did the same thing, and most of them involved inscrutable programming interfaces and networking or UIs.

I'm thinking in code now.

Either that or my brain has turned to mush.

my boyfriend writes in those languages. I don't understand them at all. Gah

Yeah, a few of my friends are starting to get married, have kids, move in together etc etc

I keep exclaiming 'But I'm 21!'

Another quiet, easy Sunday. I wrote a little more of my new novel project and watched Red Dawn and made a fantastic dinner. I worked at breaking in my new Helly Hansen moccasins, and I walked all over my little neighborhood while taking in a little sun.

None of this is interesting to anyone, but it's all I have for you.

Are you sure it needs the S?

Whenever I hear about someone dying under mysterious, undisclosed cricumstances, i always think it was probably autoerotic asphyxiation. I'm not sure why, but it kind of disturbs me that's what I think of.

Something involving incest and murder for me. I read way too many books about people in small towns.

I have really really vivid dreams, I wake up every morning and tell sbk about them, and every morning he looks at me like I'm crazy.

My ancient G4 finally decided to kick the bucket, so I had to buy a new Mac mini today. I was hoping that would last until the Powerbook G5s came out. Oh well.
luminaire:
I sense a tinge of sarcasm.

I love how you phrase that, you just "had to" go buy the mini. Gadget slut.

I'm jealous. frown

There are worse things to spend $800 on. For a new computer, that's downright affordable.

We need some new developers at work, so I've been pitching in to screen resumes. I can't believe what passes for a resume among some people. I've gotten to the point where I'm judging on font usage and text density. If you can't get it through your head that MS Comic Sans is not appropriate for a professional document or that people are busy and...

Good point.

My career councilor keeps asking me to add pictures to my resume. He also thinks that I should stop using Courier. I keep telling him that my resume is not a design project. Maybe I'm just stubborn.

Get in the car, turn on the radio, and holy shit, that's Chuck D! Just hearing Mistachuck's menacing growl on the radio (over some decent beats by someone called Z-Trip) told me that it was going to be a good day, and I was right. Things just worked all day.

Thank you, Chuck D!

Forget boredom. iTunes just shifted to ODB. That's an instant mood-lifter.

You know that when a movie is described as "where martial arts and hip hop collide", it was made in Korea, and features dubbed voices by rappers that you're in for a cinematic tour de force.

I got an email from one of my friends this evening wherein he told me about how one of my exes, who married the guy she left me for, is apparently so poor that she's got a wishlist up on her website that includes food for her pets. Obviously, this friend thought I'd be amused by her plight, but I find that I don't have...

Just another reason why I like you!

I don't think I've ever parted on bad terms with any of my exes. That's really sad, and it was good of you to try to help.

I've settled into a quiet Sunday routine and the domesticity of it amuses me. Plus, the idea of me ever following a routine is somewhat bizarre.

In pretty much an unchanging order, I do the following:

- Wake up semi-early
- Walk downstairs and spend some quality time on the elliptical trainer
- Shower with the Sunday products (Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo and Kiehl's...

The past few days have been shit, utter shit.

It started like everything else in my life does: at work. I made a slight change to something that didn't affect anything but what I was doing. The resident ultra-nerd took offense and issued off a set of the most condescending and unprofessional emails I've ever seen. I replied with what I felt was a temperate...

1) Thank you. I knew there had to be something.
2) As far as I'm concerned Krispy Kreme is nothing, period.
3)Oh come on! It's a cultural mecca! If meth and cousin fucking a mecca makes.

Cajun-style fried chicken, homemade macaroni and cheese, and green salad for dinner. Some lemonade in the glass. Strawberries and devonshire cream for dessert. A clean apartment and a sunny late afternoon. Quiet down tempo on the MP3 stream. Scarface to watch later. A pile of novels in the nightstand.

You can't tell me life can't be pleasant.
