i'm of two minds about those kid-leash things as well. having dealt with mine disappearing in public a couple times, i can definitely understand what motivates people to go that route. on the other hand, i'm not so down with the idea of treating kids as one would normally treat an animal. and either way, the fact that the kid in that picture was *crawling* is... unfortunate, to say the least
