I don't have too much that's deep and meaningful to say.

Last weekend, I went to a nearby fair with my mom.

Watched a demolition derby, and ate lots of junk - funnel cake, cotton candy, a scone dog, bologna and scone, and a plain scone. Scones are a traditional Native Canadian way to clog your arteries - they're big lumps of deep-fried dough. But absolutely delicious.

This past week, I went to see two movies, which is unusual considering how rarely I see movies in the theatre at all.

John Tucker Must Die is particularily good - thank God it only cost four bucks to get in. The first problem is the title. It makes me think it'll be a dark comedy. I knew it was about girls getting revenge on a guy who cheated on them. The title should be John Tucker Must Be Made to Feel Somewhat Uncomfortable. They never tried to kill him. They never got particularily mean either. I won't give the ending away, but it was nice that they didn't go for the standard cop-out ending. The actors, while possibly talented, and mostly very cute, all seemed to be playing their roles independently of one another, as though each were the only actor there. I blame the director for that.

Accepted is not a great film, but certainly a lot of fun. The main character, played by Justin Long of the seemingly endless Mac computer commercials, doesn't get into any colleges, so he creates one. And as long as you're willing to suspend your disbelief at least a bit, it's an enjoyable waste of time. There's some great attempts at recreating Animal House, which don't succeed but are still amusing. Lewis Black has several great scenes. I'm not sure if he's ranting from a script or just winging it, but it's great to take in either way. And, if the idea of going to a university where you study whatever you want, whenever you want, however you want, sounds as appealling to you as it does to me, you'll be willing to go along with the concept. The ending, sadly, was apparently written at the last minute when they realized they were out of ideas.

I'm a television junkie, but have yet to hear of any new shows this season that sound exciting. As you can tell from my taste in movies, I go for sitcoms. But believe it or not, my standards for sitcoms are actually higher than my standards for comedy movies. I'm not sure I could explain that, even if I tried. And this season's sitcoms look like they may be unbearable to watch. I do watch some dramas, but have little interest in the new dramas as well. If I stumble across anything good, I'll tell you.

My mom is off to see her sister and mom for a week and a bit, leaving tonight.

I'd go if we were just spending a day there, but I get antsy at my relatives after a few hours. Actually, I get antsy before I even get there, but after a few hours I want to leave. It's not that I don't like them or anything like that. I just have nothing to say to them. Nothing to talk about.

And seeing my grandma is depressing. She's in a nursing home, and she doesn't know who I am. She barely knows her own children, let alone grandchildren.

Would you believe that I've already run out of things to say?
