I have had a good day....a very good day, indeed.

At 7:00 I went and saw Battleship Potemkin at the local museum. It was super fucking cool seeing it on the big screen. To add to the coolness the guy who was in charge of showing the film switched over to the WVU/Louisville game up until the start time of the movie. So, I...

It's like picking the yankees at the start of the baseball season. They won't win it every year, but it's the safest bet. They were a #1 seed. They were weak, but it they did make it to the elite 8. Better than 'Cuse did, better than Wake. But it does suck for me, cuz they are my team.

Alrighty....a more proper update.

I woke up Saturday morning and my computer wouldn't do anything. I couldn't get online. I couldn't see any of the files on my computer. I couldn't do anything. But I didn't have time to do anything about it.

Saturday morning I left for Saginaw and I was there until Tuesday morning. It wasn't too bad. There was some good and...

Great pick. Especially in the Eighth Round.

I would bet a significant amount of money that Bonds is playing by Mid-May. He just said that stuff to get the media all in a tizzy/off his back/fuck up people's fantasy drafts. Knee surgeries like that typically only take a month to heal. Even with his advanced age, he'll be out there much sooner than the All Star Break.

Trust me. I've been watching Bonds for the past 13 years. About once a year he pulls out the "this might be my last year" routine. It's just for his own amusement.

so would you get fringe benefits at the DairyM? like free milk and popsicles or something? then it would totally be worth it.

i have an emac, you know the one that looks a giant half-egg.. but i dont use it much because it's not nearly as convenient as the laptop. shocked i heard good things about the mac mini. too bad apple just doesnt include a mini keyboard and mini monitor to go with it for an extra $100.

I promise a better update later this afternoon. But since this is the first time I have been online in almost a week, I figured I should say hello.

Things I did today.....

1. Went to work for a couple hours.

2. Bought lunch for the guys at work. You see, my general manager is not excessively bright and she told the manager that the store owed me money even though it didn't. So, I used the $15 to buy chinese food for myself and the two guys I was working with....I had Szechuan...

St. Louis isn't a bad place to live. I mean, if you are a vegetarian or vegan then you should probably avoid the mid-west altogether.

It is a union town, so you will only find companies like wal-mart on the outskirts for the most part. Rent prices aren't bad and being a pro-labor town, wages are generally pretty good.

They are doing a lot of highway and airport expansion currently, as well as expanding the light rail system. Right now the light rail can get you to downtown, and will drop you off at any professional sports venue, which is nice.

Excellent italian food, thin crust pizza, and toasted ravioli. Be forewarned, at many local pizza places there they will use provolone instead of mozzarella. I remember when I was a little kid that if you ordered from pizza hut or dominos it would come with provolone. which, in my opinion, is the way to make a pizza. smile

Well, I may be quitting my job today. My boss enjoys blocking my attempts to get as many hours as I possibly can. I am supposed to work 4-9 tonight. I am guessing I will be getting a call sometime this afternoon telling me not to bother coming in. I'm not going to answer the phone, I will just show up anyway. If when I...

Yeah, Spike is the first Elvis Costello I heard too. I saw the "Veronica" video on MTV, and was intrigued. Couldn't afford to buy it right away, but it didn't take long. And this was during a big Beatles phase for me, so the fact that Paul McCartney co-wrote some of the songs clinched it. A lot of Costello fans regard this as a low-point in his career, but I can't figure that out. Admittedly it has some synth stuff here and there that seems kinda cheesy today, and maybe the fact that Elvis was getting MTV play at all turned off some fans... But as far as I'm concerned, Spike is a career highlight. I love the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and especially Marc Ribot on guitar. Whenever I hear "Chewing Gum," I think every pop song should have a tuba. And Ribot's avant skronk.

Any idea where you want to work? I have my stuff in with temp agencies, so I'm not to worried, but I feel sick over this (literally). They say they have no record of my work, so they think I faked my hours. I'm waiting to hear back from them. I'll probably get fired. I feel nauseated. I've been with them for four years. I was going to quit soon anyway, but quitting doesn't leave a black mark on your record. blackeyed

I've fired up the ole VCR and I'm watching some episodes of Aeon Flux.....damn do I love this show. I'm so certain that the movie will suck ass. I'll probably see it, but I know I will hate it. Then again, I knew I would hate the Josie and the Pussycat movie and I ended up loving it.

I'm so sick of snow!!!!! It's not...

when I lived in orlando 'bout 6 years ago, we threw lots of house parties, and aeon flux was always on the TV with random electronica playing in the background. it always synced up so well, better after a few bong hits.

did you know season one of Pete & Pete comes out on DVD in May?

How can you not include Bleach Boys??? shocked

Maybe I'll do the Pixies but it seems somewhat redundant since there is already a "Best of " CD floating around out there for them....

I thimk the last time I was around the Pats had only won 2 superbowls! got to go to three games last season. Both Miami games, (we were lost in the parking lot at pro player during the last 2:00, see what we get for getting a jump on south beach!) and the Sunday night Buffalo game. good stuff.

hey what was the name of that bridge in south east michigan held together with industrial glue? I was telling someone about it recently and forgot the name.

It'd be funnier if I could find a better pic. It's the Phillies highlight video from '93 (the Mitch Williams/Joe Carter year).

What a good day so far....I got baseball tickets! I got one ticket for the Cincinnati Reds at St. Louis Cardinals on April 12th and one ticket for the day game the next day. I only went to one game last year and it was early in the season, so it's been awhile. My plan's to go down there on the 11th and leave after...

I took a delivery to a church tonight. They ordered a dozen pizzas and put it on account, so all I needed was a signature for them to "pay" for them. The conversation went something like this:

Me: I just need you to sign here.
Church Guy: OK
Me: Ok, the pink copy is for you.
CG: Yup, I just give that to the boss...

a dozen pizzas? they eat a lot.

do you think "the boss" has a p.c. sense of humor?
