Unlike some other commenters, I'd say don't start your grad degree unless you are VERY sure it's the right thing. Trying to maintain even the tiniest amount of enthusiasm for a subject for 3 or 4 years is hard unless you really love the subject. Do you know what your thesis would be? If you're not sure, I'd say become sure before you start. Talk to some profs, or whatever.

Personally, I worked for 5 years before going back to grad school. Got out of debt, learned a lot about what matters and what doesn't in my field, and was MUCH better prepared for grad school when I did go back.

My $0.02, for what it costs you... wink
