Where does the time go?

My weekend was a pleasant blur, but I really didn't get what I wanted out of it. But it's over now. Of course work was waiting for me when I got back here. Even with a minimum of distraction today just flew by- one new thing after another kept me from finishing the last.

I remember when I was a...

years fly by now...I measure the passing of my days in a blur - so many are duplicates are the last, those special moments break up the monotony beautifully though. Its liek having an alternate reality, there is no time line between those moments, none of the day to day bullshit, they're just one after another, since those are things worth remembering.

Maybe I'm just delusional...

i can't be there.

i have other commitments. job school intership. they're important, and not just to me. i'm not the kind to let other people down. myself... yes.

I'm taking a week off so I can get my life back in order. Damn SG for being so addictive I can't have it around in small doses. Send me an email if it's important.

Oh and I will be in Portland all weekend- first at the F&L party and then the Apollo's Lute party. Drop me a line if anyone is going to be...

Tonight:
Still Groovin' To The Side feat. Frankie Bones

Actually I'm not going to this to party. I'm actually going as a DanceSafe volunteer. Yup- being an old skool party kid I do whatever I can to help educate and reduce harm in the electronic music community. Tonight should be fun since we are training two new volunteers. They seem young but they have so...

I am VERY in touch with my masculine side. It ejaculates...

In Holland, they not only sell testing kits and there are a couple of people that you can call who will test for you, but there is a government agency that will test no questions asked. I think all the chemical shit is really bad, but people are going to do it regardless (I mean, duh, could it be more illegal?) and at least it is a responsible approach to making sure no one dies or is scarred for life.
cherryb0mb:
i am ALL for DanceSafe. I had one of those pill testing kits a couple years ago, but the cops confiscated it when they searched my apartment and busted my roomate. not that i'd need it anymore anyway...

but yes, i do believe in pill testing. there is so much of the "bad" ingredients out there, and you never know what you're taking unless you have it checked out first. we used to look everything we got up on the internet first, and test it. fortuneately, we never came across anything bad, but people should always be cautious. that's very cool of you to volunteer!

I don't know how I feel about the fact that it's Friday already. One one hand I am glad the week is over, and on the other I am panicked because I didn't get nearly enough done. And god knows no matter how many times I tell myself I am going to catch up over the weekend, that never happens.

Why can't I have a...

I know the supernatural exists. And it isn't something that is a matter of rationale or intellectualism. 2 centuries ago, they didn't even know oxygen existed and the idea of microorganisms was science-fantasy. When the steam engine really looked like it could be a success as a form of transport, not just mechanical output, scientists of the day declared that we would all suffocate to death for the air rushing by us too fast at 50mph. They used to think the atom was the smallest building block of the universe, but THAT was split into something called quarks. The only reason we think a black hole exists and we spend so much effort LOOKING for them is because someone sat down and showed the possibility mathematically.

Science does not deny the possibility of multiple dimensions occupying the same space-time. Perhaps even INFINITE dimensions. That is more mind-boggling to me than the possibility of electromagnetic residues we call ghosts, which only people with a particular range of brain frequencies can pick up.

The supernatural isn't outside of your realm of thought, you are just allowing a certain way of viewing things to dominate your process of acceptance and dismissal. In the end science and magic really aren't that different. When the scientific community began getting deep into quantum physics and encountering bizzare behaviour, for example particles at relatively huge distances somehow interacting with one another with NO detectable energy exchanged between them that would provide proof of exchange of information. Sub-particle Telepathy? Or a particle disappearing in one space-time point and instantaneously appearing somewhere else and with every suggestion that it is the exact same particle, with the same spin, same velocity. Faster-than-Light travel? particle level teleportation? This sort of stuff was VERY mathematical as well as present in experiements. Maths being the most, if not THE most solid form of evidence. All things quantum got scientists very nervous because the line between science and magic became very, very blurred.

The best description of the human brain I heard was this. The brain is not a creative organ but a NEGATING organ. The brain CUTS DOWN the information streams we receive to a level where we won't be overwhelmed and be struck catatonic with stimuli. What if there were individuals born who had their filtration protocols different from the norm? All due to something very easily accepted by the scientific community as mutation. Or perhaps even as mundane as diet or drugs.

And here's a funny one I hadn't even realised they haven't figured out yet. If light is considered both a wave and a particle, then it's wave quality needs something to be a 'wave' in right? Sound waves require a level of gas or liquid or even solid. To a point the denser he better. Sound travels better in water than in air. Sound doesn't exist in space, in a vacuum, but light DOES. And when experiments (remember the interference pattern experiment from grade-school physics? a light bulb and a slate with two slits in it?) are done in space or a even a vacuum chamber here on Earth, the interference pattern still works. The intereference patterns depends on the wave quality of light for it's result. So....in a vacuum...what is light 'waving' through? No one knows...

Thanks for the support yesterday.

More mood swings today- remember when I said in my social life it either floods or there is a drought. So sadly enough my current crush has gone back to MN for an unspecified amount of time...most likely a month. I was enjoying taking things slowly, savoring the challenge. I only hope we can pick up where we left off...

On being a rit kid...

Well today marks day two of my return to meds to treat my ADHD. For me it's a bit of a defeat- basically acknowledging that I was wrong to take myself off them in the first place. I was doing so well at work I figured I had things under control and who needed them. I was even honest enough...

Hey guy - goodluck with the rit. I actually did that for a lil while as i am sort of borderline ADD. It helped a bit, but didnt really seem neceesary in the long run. I'm sure you will get your handle on it - there are worse things eh?

Cinco De Mayo - this ought to be the easiest holiday on the calendar to remember but somehow maybe cause it's in spanish I always forget.

Seattle is having it's first annual Cinco De Mayo festival down by the piers but that sounds like family oriented entertainment and I am looking for something more adult. The Century Ballroom is having a big salsa dancing night...

Update:
I must suck or something cause both of the girls I called to see if they wanted to go to salsa called me back within 5 mins of each other to tell me they weren't feeling well. So no salsa for me last night- instead my roommates and I went to the Garage for some good ole fashioned billiards and beer drinking.

Hmm- I so need to change my current favorite SGs. Those girls represent my initial impressions of who was cute and had some aspect of character that I liked, when I first got on SG. But despite my best attempts I could never strike up a real conversation with any of them. They remain these aloof iconoclast images untouchable to me- look at the pretty...

Common Courtesy:
So I took notice today of something I normally take for granted, and it brightened my day in light of my recent problems. Motorcycle riders wave to each other when they pass on the road- just an unwritten rule in that long forgotten realm of common courtesy. There is something so satisfying in that little gesture- a small familiarity amongst complete strangers.

Normally...

Ok- so I ordered the parts I need to fix my bike. My mind is back in command and control mode. They should arrive on Tuesday. I look forward to a very zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance moment. I accept the consequences of my actions, know what I need to do to set things right, and hopefully won't make this mistake again. And...

But you're innocent when you dream.
