I have three games of Borderlands 2 going on. When I originally played it, it was well after all but the Fight for Sanctuary DLCs were out. I played as the Vault Hunger Gaige with an anarchy character build and just ran around wreaking havoc with a Torgue shotgun. Good times.

Actually, no, that wasn’t the first time I played. I started with Maya, and...

Meditation is a fascinating study. I find it interesting that in a billion-dollar industry, they rarely, if ever, discuss some of the more distressing challenges that arise over the course of practice. Interesting, isn’t it? I’ve read stories of people having to be institutionalized after a weekend meditation retreat. And it isn’t uncommon, just extremely under-reported.

I recently read a study where a group of...

I do enjoy being in the altered state of consciousness. Like with just about everything else under the Sun, though, too many Alpha waves can be a bad thing, as you've so clearly stated. It's important to start small and discover your limits before they become a problem, and this is no exception.
nonsensetwice:
@sorcerer333 complete immersion and instant gratification keep many people from making informed decisions, methinks. You hit the nail on the head with regard to starting small. I would add to that focused study so that awareness is present during the practice. There are certainly lots of lucky people who throw themselves into the practice and manage to come out the other side okay. Not everyone is so lucky though. That’s great to see you have a good understanding of your own process when stepping into altered states of consciousness.

These past few days have been incredibly draining and the most randomly mixed bag of the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Mostly good though. Yesterday, I managed to PR on my deadlift at 205lbs, which is stellar for me. I’ve been stuck at 195lbs for the past few weeks, and I finally managed to pull heavier for one solid rep. Sunday, my lady and...

I wish we could create gallery sections within blogs on here. I don’t like stacking multiple images at full size because then you’ve got a long scroll ahead. If this is in your feed and you tapped that “Read More” out of your curiosity, now you’re fucked having to roll through however many images may have been published whether you wanted to view them or...

@cerebus666 lol, maybe? It seems like by the time you arrive at a point you can activate it, you’ve already scrolled way past the point it would have been useful.

@sorcerer333 agreed! The written form gives us the benefit of being heard and the opportunity to really listen, in a sense. There’s no talking over each other. Conversations have a greater chance of being cohesive. It’s pretty great.

Games so involving you can completing disappear into them. Isn’t that the dream? As technology moves forward, games appear to be ever more realistic. Narratives are created that draw you in and spit you out. It’s the thrill of a lifetime, but with unlimited saves and undo. Play it hard, play it stealthy, play it brutal, play it clean, and the only consequence is the...

I’ve read a number of theories regarding reincarnation. One idea suggested that we’re all really just one soul experiencing itself through every single human, that each incarnation is just the experience of a different person throughout the world and across time. Honestly, that sounds terrifying. For as much as you live the good life, you experience the worst of it as well, and all at...

In his book “A Conversation with God: an Uncommon Dialogue”, Neale Donald Walsch describes your first concept, more or less, that we are all just permutations of God trying to understand the Everything that is God via perspective, via experiencing the Is and Is Not. Though I understand where you’re coming from with regards to your terror at the prospect, it’s worth noting that without contrast, without a basis of comparison, everything simply is. To put it simply, how can one enjoy the splendour of the night sky without the void that houses and exists in between them?
nonsensetwice:
@SORCERER33 ah, thank you! I couldn’t remember the source for that concept. With regard to everything simply being, isn’t that just the way of it? By removing attachment and paring away the extremities of emotion, we learn that nothing is inherently good or bad, that we shape those concepts out of perspective. It’s funny to consider that we might work so hard to cultivate that understanding, to uncover the simple truths and experience them, only to move on and get thrown into the rollercoaster of life all over again. How often do we, as souls completing a lifetime, get off the ride only to get back in line for another round? Masochistic in many ways, methinks.

My lady and I went out for a run this morning. We ran about 4.5 miles over some easy hills. I’ve been trail running for the better part of two decades now, so this was no problem. I wouldn’t exactly call 4.5 miles a long run, but it can still be taxing depending on the terrain. What helps me keep my mind focused on the...

I, for one, thank you for making that call and getting out of there. It sounds like you know what you’re doing in this department, so I have no doubt you’ll endure the trek. Remember to take pride in all of the small steps you make towards your final goal, as those successes will help propel you forward. ‘One step and one breath at a time.
nonsensetwice:
@sorcerer333 Indeed! These reminders help. It’s often too much to look at the total scope of the work. ‘One step and one breath at a time’ is what it takes.

I have never really cared for massages. Except for those two years I was going to massives almost every weekend and two of the women in the rave fam were learning massage therapy; high on molly while getting a massage in the middle of a cuddle puddle was an otherworldly experience. But otherwise, never really been a fan. I have friends who swear by them....

Last night, I begrudgingly sat down to write. I was tired, annoyed, and tired some more, but I was in my routine and couldn’t not write. It was automatic. Not writing would have been the hard thing to do. This was the plan all along, to arrive at the point where I’ve maintained a practice long enough to just do the damn thing without having...

There’s a game on Game Pass called “House Flipper.” I can only surmise what it’s about, give that I have no desire to open the ad and actually see for myself. Best guess? You’re a millennial who manages to acquire a piece of property and at the behest of your savvy real estate friend, you decide to get into the real estate game.

JFC, even...
