I have a friend who spends a lot of time watching tv, sharing the best of what she’s found, and often giving me recommendations. I don’t generally watch a whole lot of television, so it’s nice to know what to look for when I do.
I have my favorites though. Guillermo Del Toro is one of them. I found that he was hosting a series on Netflix—Cabinet of Curiosities—and I brought it up, asking if she had seen it. She says yes, but that she doesn’t remember it at all, which I found rather curious. I opted to watch it anyway. The first episode was a fun romp through the occult, and I enjoyed it, thinking “how could someone just forget about this?”
The following day, she’s telling me about a new show she discovered and is enjoying, and recommended it to me. I told her I’d dive into it that night since I was looking for something to watch, completely forgetting that I had already started Cabinet of Curiosities. I didn’t fucking remember until I opened Netflix again.
What the fuck.
