Yep, imagine the poor lives of those people who make themselves worthy by systematically trying to put down people who don't want their lifestyle...

Seen "Easy Rider" ? Always loved the part when Nicholson tells the 2 hippy bikers, after they were about to be lynched in a motorway dinner: "You know, they're not afraid of you but they hate you because you represent all the freedom they'll never find the courage to get for themselves" Always kept that in mind everytime I was/am given shit.

not much to relate today apart from one really touching moment. i was walking home from the station at thames ditton and as you walk down the road leading away from the station you come to a corner of a roundabout. but on the left is a small paddock used to keep animals, there was a goat for years.

currently it is occupied by two...

You have to watch the Jarmusch films, they're fantastic ! Yep, I like Mr Lynch a lot, just couldn't put everything in my list smile Have you heard his Blue Bob project ? Quite weird (of course...!), kind of a mix between J&M Chain and some industrial/experimental sounds. Sweet.

Skinny Puppy ? Well, I've got a piece of the Too Dark Park vinyl cover inked on my right arm. Need I say more ?

Seen the "Kafka" film ? Thought it was really cool

PS: thanx for your sweet comments

If it's kindness you're looking for then you've come to the right place. For camping there will be people I'm sure that will let you share their tents and such. I personally don't have any camping gear. I think I might try to aquire some by then. If you want a night or two in my place while you're in the area I could probaly help you out with that as well. I'm just outside of Manhattan and I love showing off the city to folks on holiday. How many are there going to be with you?
andy_hallam:
Well I would be tempted to go for either black and white or highly saturated colour (kinda like your profile pic).
Personal thoughts on themes just going from your fave films etc. - Labyrinth, Sleepy Hollow and Lord of the Rings all give excelent dress up opportunities, which needn't be expensive.
While the Crow or Cyberpunk stuff (I am thinking William Gibson stylee) offer more up to date but still pretty dark options. I could certainly knock up a background and some props on the cheap. I also already have quite abit of stuff that could be used as props ready to go, knives, biker gear etc if you want go the more modern route.
What did you have in mind?

i wish i could get my girlfriend to wear hotpants.
they gotta be the sexiest item of clothing there is.

She's not the kind of girl
Who likes to tell the world
About the way she feels about herself
She takes a little time in making up her mind
She doesn't want to fight against the tide

And lately I'm not the only one
I say never trust anyone

Always the one who has to drag her down
Maybe you'll get what you want this...

Clare, i feel i am letting you down with this lack of correspondance. i haven't even spoken to you in 2 weeks which is pretty appalling really. Apologies. Youre Ok- Youre ALIVE
Laura kept repeating these four words, like a mantra.
Her hands gripped the wheel of the old jeep until her knuckles became white.
Youre Alive
She had been driving for a few hours through the rain forest- it was hard to tell exactly. She wasnt even aware of where she was heading. In her rear-view mirror she could still see the smoke coming up from the now demolished research lab. As far as she knew- she was the only survivor- Her peers were probably all dead. She would have been dead too, if it wasnt for the maintenance tunnels underneath the telescope. Being the youngest scientist, Laura was often sent to fix wires, take readings, and most recently- place some mouse traps underneath along the dark cement corridors. What the three strange men did not notice when they searched the telescopes control room was the slightly open ventilation shaft, out of which Laura had made her escape. Down through the tunnels and out a small and hardly used service entrance she went, holding her laptop under her arm, her heart racing with adrenaline and fear.

It was time for a damage assessment.
She was miles away from civilization and had no means of communication.
Well- there was her laptop and the jeeps computer, which together allowed her to transmit a very powerful radio signal.

To outer space.

Great! This was just Fucking Great!
She had no doubt that the men back at the lab were after her. Well- perhaps not her personally, but there was no doubt in her mind it had to do with the intercepted message. Wait a minute- Were they MEN?!? They certainly didnt seem normal- she managed a quick peek before descending the ladder into the tunnels. They were all really tall, and had a very strange shape to their heads. Not that it mattered at this point- she was alone in the jungle, with few provisions and no weapons.

Laura turned the wheel sharply and stopped her jeep in a small clearing. She had to stop for a second and compose herself.

Along with the sudden silence came the shock of recent events. Laura could feel her eyes starting to water- this was not what she had signed up for! She wasnt looking for THIS kind of excitement- she was a Scientist for god sake- not some science-fiction hero!

-=-=-=-=-=Beep=-=-=-=-=-

She wanted to go home- enough with this nightmare

-=-=-=-=-=Beep=-=-=-=-=-

Lauras eyes slowly turned to her laptop.

-=-=-=-=-=Beep=-=-=-=-=-

The communication unit was still operating- now that it was locked onto the correct coordinates, it didnt need the telescope anymore- it was receiving signals from one of their satellites.

The space guy. He was all she had right now.

Laura wiped her eyes and opened the computer- the same SOS message came up.

SHE was all he had as well.

Two stranded life forms.

It was getting dark. Laura decided to stay in the vehicle for the night. They would be looking for her- she had a pretty good feeling about that. She busied herself camouflaging the jeep with small branches and large leaves until no one could tell it from a jeep buried under rain forest vegetation.

Once inside she turned her attention to her computer- She typed a quick reply:

=#=#=#=Message Intercepted=#=#=#=

=#=#=#Who are you?=#=#=#

She had no idea what was the proper SOS procedure, or if the person (person? Thing?) up there would even understand English. They DID speak English in all those movies didnt they?

It suddenly dawned on her that although her mind was racing, she was physically exhausted- She had to sleep, if only for a little while.
