CRAZY thing happened to me yesterday as i was leaving my art class...
the class is in the basement of the art building, so i was heading toward the elevator, when all of a sudden i'm stopped by a beautiful woman. (this almost never happens) she looks at me and says, "excuse me, but do you know where ART 215B is? and i say, "i think it's on the second floor...the 200s are on the second floor and the 300s are on the third." we stop and wait for the elevator. she starts asking me questions about myself. like what my major is and what i want to do. and i ramble on about typography. she actually seems interested. but all the while, i get a feeling that something isn't quite right. she's fidgity and nervous and she's talking really really fast. i'm a pretty non threatening, dorky guy...i doubt i've ever made anyone nervous. after a few seconds, she comments on how confusing the room numbers are again and follows it up by saying, "...or maybe it's because i just did a line." i just chuckled. but inside my head i was thinking, wow...what an idiot.
this whole thing got me thinking about something. i've always been a hopeless romantic, but increasingly i find that i become a little more bitter after each time i'm let down by someone of the opposite sex. and i started thinking, how cool was THIS situation. this girl was drop dead gorgeous. i could have thought about her for weeks, but she decided to reveal her fatal flaw to me within the first couple minutes of knowing her. i kinda wish all girls would do this. it sure would keep my head in the right place. on my studies, where it should be.
