So last night I check my voicemail on my very dead, chargerless mobile phone. I checked it from my landline after numerous tries of figuring out the right sequence to access it.
It turns out I'm a finalist in the Slick Fetish Ball fashion designer contest. I need to call and confirm it.
Here's the prize:
Stormy Leather is providing a prize package valued at over $5000. The winning designer will win a one-month paid internship (value $1500) at Stormy Leather giving the winning designer access to all material and equipment within the Stormy Leather factory. Stormy Leather will carry the winning design in all of their stores giving the designer a bi-coastal design credit. The designer will also be given first consideration for a permanent position on the Stormy Leather Design Team. The winning designer will also have their design displayed at the prestigious MAGIC trade show. The designer will also have their designs replicated and distributed throughout the world within the Stormy Leather on-line catalog and web site.

To work at Stormy Leather would be awesome! Not to mention the other stuff.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure that I'll be able to pull it all off. Time wise and money wise. With the move, it's just a whole lot of stress. Cry.
You tell me:
Kill myself by working my ass off, stressing out, trying to sew three elaborate outfits and find models to wear them and choreograph a three minute runway piece and possibly go very broke in the process but have the opprotunity of a lifetime?
-or-
Not stress too much, still work my ass off to try and get my foot in the door in another way, but possibly be losing out on a potentially career making move and in doing so making one of the stupidest decisions in my life?

Do it even if it means you lose your mind temporarily from the stress.
Trust me, it's worse to not even try... because no one else will give us that chance to win or lose except ourselves.
