First off: Whatever you do this week, DO NOT go see Knocked Up. Why? Allow me to explain.
1. It is poorly veiled Family Values Xian propaganda. No, I'm not kidding. I was told this before I saw it, I did not believe. Now I do. Keep in mind that the next movie this team is producing is a Noah's Ark comedy. As the viewer of this modern morality play, you will be charmed not only by life lessons like "the children are more imporant than whether you like your spouse", "your baby is more important than your career, body, or happiness ", and "a woman just needs to be put in her place", but the homophobia and creepy racism should fill in the gaps the misogyny leaves open. Plus, you'll get to see endless ultrasounds pointing out beating hearts as early as eight weeks!
2. It's not even funny. Sure, they've got "40-year-old Virgin" cred. They don't have Mooj. And they don't have the funny. Except for about five minutes of mushrooms in Vegas.
3. It won't just not get you laid. It is the Anti-fuck. Add the most graphic birth scene I have ever seen outside of a biology class, and you'll want to sleep alone. In a fortified room. With a can of mace in one hand and a can of spermicide in the other.
