today, my brother sent me this e-mail:

I hope you are all doing well. I just got back from my first day at my field placement, and they threw me into court already. It was fun and kind of depressing at the same time. We determined that a 14-year-old needs to be placed in a detention center after ten counts of assault, twice with a...

yeah...it's not the kind of thing you'd choose to deal with, is it? what does your brother do? is he working in a legal capacity? or does he work in a kind of social worker's role? i'm just curious. the world can be a very sad place sometimes
happycherries:
WOW what a sad story. That poor kid needs some intensive thearpy. frown

her martyrdom began in her childhood. at eight years old, she believed fiercely in the power of prayer.

she asked her god, a frail wooden man hanging on a sturdy wooden cross, to relieve the burden of suffering in the world, if only the tiniest amount, by experiencing it herself.
escapeodt:
i've made similar prayers myself. admittedly, not for the benefit of the wider global population, but for those i love who are suffering. i've lost count of how many times i've found myself wishing that i could carry the burden of someone else's pain for them. sucks that life isn't that obliging.

Wow, your blog photo is phenomenal. Picking up all the feathers...it can take some time...but perhaps well worth the effort and lessons learned while doing so? Or perhaps, I am interpreting wrong?

Behold! Last night I quote one of my favorite verses from Song of Solomon. Today the Powers-That-Be give us an Ember set. Two fawns, twins of a gazelle indeed!

My name is SYH and I have a one-track mind. biggrin

the next time she leans over that cubical wall, telling me she is too busy and would I please do this something that is every bit as much her job as mine, I will tell her that I'll get right on it. after I'm done masturbating to internet pornography.

i always worry! it's my thing! heh. seriously hun, i'm always gonna worry about you when you're sad, upset, hurting or whatever...as far as i'm concerned, if i wasn't worrying about you, i wouldn't be caring about you, and what kind of a friend would that make me? so i guess you're stuck with my obsessive caring...lucky you... =P

you picture is making me hungry. im shocked that you could read that. i just reread it and i couldn't. life just became a little less hard. one of the boys asked for his space. and that is what he will get.
i wont contact him again, he will have to be the one to contact me.
it was a one sided friendship any way...i always had to listen to his problems but he never had time for mine. and it isnt the first time he did this to me.. fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
anyway hope you had a good holiday.

I am a snob about certain things. I will go out of my way to find my favorite $1.25 per fluid ounce shampoo. I believe that a haircut that costs $20 is never worth the money, but one that costs $50 always is. I replace my windshield wiper blades every six months. I believe that my german-engineered, 100% silicone sex toys really are better than...

there are some things i just can't compromise on....

toiletries - like moisturiser, exfoliant and shaving cream --- more $$$ = better product.

clothes - I get a lot of wear out of my clothes - and I have a thing about buying 2nd hand clothes, I think too much about where they've been before i own the,

drink --- i buy expensive wine and beer (and spirits) - just coz i feel more 'refined' with a expensive drink!

other than those things --- I'm tight-as-hell with everything else... but i make up for the cheapness by buying lots of stuff!!!

as my line-thingy on my profile says.... consumer of all - rejector of nil.

meanwhile --- you have a Mode jacket?
