Backbiting and infighting. My family continues to undermine their relationships with each other. As a new piece of bad news makes its way down the pike every week, they are only turning against each other. Since I am the only one that lives on the West Coast, they all look to me as some kind of arbiter. But everybody is behaving so poorly that I don't feel I can support anybody. It is very, very backwards.

... just spaz out. Honestly, get them all together and just freak at them. Families are supposed to be brimming with trust and support. You might get them to stop long enough for the brain to kick back in. It will probably be most effective if you are known to be reserved and/or level haeded. It might be great fun too.

If that is totally off base please forgive my lack of knowledge of your situation.
