Well, I spent last week performing in a show - I love acting, and singing, and even a bit of dancing. It takes me to a place I seldom get to in life. I'm not an exhibitionist, in fact I'm quite shy, but I love to play a role, to immerse myself in a part - maybe to escape. I guess that's also a little bit of what I find here - a chance to hide behind a secret identity, to meet new people on terms that I can set. I'm having a break from acting for a while now, so you never know, I may be a more frequent visitor.
I know exactly what you mean about this site and how you can be who you want to be. I am always completely honest on this site and open about my thoughts and feelings, which is something I am unable to do elsewhere. This is often my place of sanctuary and I love it. I too have been out of sorts with the place of late, but I hope that will change with me very soon.
