It's been years since I last posted here but with everyone self isolating at present, I thought it would be good to share my thoughts. It's definitely a strange time, feels like we're standing on shifting sands, and many of us are now confined to a very solitary existence. But that's all the more reason to reach out to our online community and show empathy...

I share the same thoughts and anguish, I think the whole world has felt this thump.

I'm currently directing a Shakespeare play and am struck, as ever by the man, or men, depending on your point of view. The complexity of his characters, the richness of the text, the psychological insights of someone living so long ago never cease to amaze and it's a privilege to bring my own interpretation to his work.

Nice to meet you too. I want to direct a play. That sounds really fun.

@nikdante. You have a wonderful name Dante... The most important writer and Italian poet that influenced so much Italian culture ❤️❤️

I've been feeling a great sense of my own mortality lately. I look back over the last 20 years and they've passed in a flash - then I think that in another 20 years I'm going to be 68 (if I'm here at all) and frankly that scares me. It's like life is zooming past and I don't know how to slow it down.

This...

Happy Birthday. See? Was that so bad?

My father just turned 70 over the weekend. I'm not sure if I want to grow any older or not!

To my shame, I realise it's been a year since my last post. No time to write much now, except to say lots of love to you all love

2011's been a strange year for me, not always the best year to be honest, but I do feel that I end it stronger than I was at the end of 2010 and with some degree of optimism. Happy Christmas everyone and have a great 2012, my loves. lovekiss

As ever, it's been far too long since I blogged here, so hopefully this makes up for it. The last time we 'spoke' I was in a bit of a dark place - you'll be pleased to hear that things have picked up since then. I've kind of gone back on my 'no acting' pledge, but much more now on my own terms = not...

Life's felt a bit hard lately. I've decided to take a sabbatical from my great love, acting, in order to spend more time at home, but it's left a big gap, which I'm struggling to fill with something productive. Instead I'm eating too much, watching too much TV and just mooching around.

Sometimes I feel like acting's a bit of a drug which has kept...

I completely agree with the calling people thing. I hate calling people on the phone. I am so glad texting became popular!

I've got a cold, Very stuffed up and snuffy,
On top of that, I've been feeling a bit down recently. Maybe it's the advent of autumn, I don't know, but my confidence seems to have taken a dive.
All the things I dislike about my job have re-surfaced and even my acting and singing, usually a great escape from the downsides of everyday life, have...

Been away for a week in Scotland, including a couple of days at the Edinburgh Fringe. I feel so at home there - although there's thousands of people in the town for the Festival, there's always someone to run into or to chat to. I feel that I can be really me there, more so than perhaps anywhere else. Saw some great shows too.

It's been a really busy few weeks. I'm appearing in a play at the end of the week, and it's going to be a real push to have it ready in time. There's a hell of a lot of lines to learn, which I've sort of got, but it's really hard to keep them all in my mind. Fingers crossed.
kryptik:
