Two days, two posts! Is this a record. Back home at lunchtime to check on the gas men who are digging up my drive and doing something to the gas meter. Inevitably, it looks like it's going to be a much more complex task than anticipated, and at present the house smells vaguely of gas which is unpleasant. In theory the gas will be back...

It really is bloody cold hon, try and keep as warm as you can. I'm in my office for the first time since before Christmas and it's painfully cold up here so you're not the only one suffering. Hopefully they'll get that gas sorted ASAP!! xx

Happy New Year, everyone. I've got a new laptop which hopefully will allow for more frequent excursions into the land of SG. My old pc was so damn slow I had to pencil in a half-hour window in my schedule just to switch it on. Anyway, here I am, in snowy Britain and strangely hopful about 2009 - let's hope it brings great things to...

I'm glad NOT to have snow down here today although it's still bloody cold!! I too am VERY hopeful that this year is going to be amazing! Why? I have absolutely no idea but it can't be any worse than 2008 so yeah, it's gonna be a good one smile

We've gotta keep hoping haven't we!! smile

I've just finished reading Joe Hill's Heart-Shaped Box - a very haunting, dark novel, but with a lovely redemptive ending. Highly recommended.

I've got bruises on my arm from stripping the willow.
(It's a Scottish dance - not a euphemism for masturbation)
I was at a wedding in Scotland on Wednesday and my dance partner was particular vigorous. Fun - if tiring.

I've been watching a TV programme about anger which has struck a chord with me. Whether due to some deep-down dissatisfaction with my life, whether due to the fact that I think I could do things better than those around me, I find myself often infuriated by the world around me. The programme recommended changes of diet (I do find that sugar will often kick...

Shamed into a new post by the urgings of Dixy I wanted to assure everyone that I'm still around, even if I can be a bit quiet at times. Life's very busy at present, but I try to fit in the odd half-hour on SG before work when I can. Nothing like it to get me awake and raring to go!
So, it seems like...

I'm off work today - developed some kind of cold, fluey thing last night, so being stuck at home, and feeling better than I did, what better time to update my blog (it's about time!). I don't tend to get here as often as I used to these days, which is why I added my MySpace address - it gives more opportunities to keep in...

Well, two months have gone by since my last post - time just whizzes past and there seem to be so many calls on my time these days. Apologies for not being here for so long, nonetheless. I'm 'working from home' today while I have a carpet fitted downstairs, so thought I'd use the opportunity to catch up.

There finally seems to be the first...

Hey to you too smile

Yes, I could do with a hug right now, but then again who couldn't.

There's a distinct lack of hugs going round these days frown I'd like to see that change.

Nice to hear from a fellow Brit too; tell me, whereabouts in our miserable country are you friend?

A new year, a new bang to the head. Those who know me of old will recognise a recurring theme here. Throughout my life, I have had a propensity for banging my head - doors, walls, shelves, cupboards, the ground, you name it, I'll have hit my head on it at some stage. I guess my spacial awareness has never been great, or something. And...

Time for a festive posting I believe. It's bitterly cold here, but with that fresh, clear feeling that I enjoy in the winter (although the house remains pretty chilly). No doubt by Christmas Day itself, it'll be grey and overcast, but nonetheless, I'm starting to feel a bit Christmassy. The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl are on the radio and nothing makes me feel more in...

Bloody hell! I've just banged my head on the bed post - great way to start the day. It's cold too; winter's definitely here. Still, it's bright and clear so not so bad. whatever
