An interesting week - glass half full mostly
Caught the Tezuka manga exhibition at the NGV. Great manga and fun exhibition and thought it would be cool to share with ex. That seemed to go well we agreed to get a casual lunch in the sun down the beach.
My head was saying don't do it, but ... long story short, wine, food, sun and fun vibe at beach didn't last long. Text messages and better offers proved too tempting for her to hang out longer.
I should just let it go - she has - but she was so cool to have in my life.
Tried this week to get out a couple of times. Weather has been so great I checked out a beer garden nearby work - hooked up with some travellers from Canada for a few hours which was great fun. Ended up in another bar with rocking band.
Another night involved a few reds with a girl - heart wasn't in it so bailed early, dropped her home, let's do it again, yadda yadda.
That aside, it's Xmas party season on the corporate circuit. Got a tactic this year - get name ticked off at door (ensures invite next year), scope room for fun people (surprisingly few generally), a few great reds, then slide out and hook up with friends in city later.
Office Xmas party later this week in city - probably hit it early and slide away to fun elsewhere. Lure of free drinks not enough to compensate for hanging for colleagues en masse (too many egos, dramas, tears ...)
Must start working on holiday plans for 2007 - thinking Outback, gorges, trekking, swimming with dolphins.
