Going out to eat at Palomino this evening. Mmm, mmm, mmm Palomino is good food! Unfortunately this also marks the time of year where I must give my assistant a raise. I hate giving raises. I'm like the Scrooge McDuck of parting with more money for people that work for me. I don't like to do it. Funny... loose wallet at the bar, but tight in the office and at home. Hmm?

The breasts, the sniffly nose, everything. Car payments, rent, girly stuff to buy, clothes, booze. Same as us, bro. Company loyalty speaks volumes and motivates her to WANT to do well for you and for herself. It instills pride in her and what she does right down to the demeaning tasks you place upon her every day ~cough~ If she has to ask for a raise and then you give her one, it's too late, she'll resent you no matter what the amount. Give her one upfront half that amount and it'll be unexpected and make her feel that she deserves it. The raise decision and how you handle it right down to the detail can and often will affect the next 4 to 6 months werk she gives you.
