I'm alive.
Just stuck in a job hunting mode the last week or two and it might actually pay off...

I had a phone interview with a fast-casual restaurant today and my recruiter told me that in all likelihood I'm the best candidate she's sent over for the position so ideally i should feel hopeful.

Hard, but i'm trying recruiter lady.

i'll post more when...

Aww, snow kitty. biggrin My kitty Torch puffed up too, and made these high-pitched frustrated meows. The outdoors freak him out anyway though.

I despise that I let things that shouldn't bother me any longer get through my defenses...

I cannot stand knowing I have a gift for something yet can't seem to find a profession doing it, and I'm terrified that I'll have to go it on my own and make it work myself...

I feel strange for having developed an infatuation with the unachievable beauty of...

Hello, I've been meaning to write back to you as you sent me some wonderful journal comments over the last few entries. I think sometimes I reply to them in my head and then forget that I haven't actually posted my response! I really appreciate them all. Your journal entry here has made me recall a book I read recently that you might like, it's called Letters to a Young Poet by Rilke, I can't remember if we talked about it before but yes I think you might relate to it, it's very beautiful.

All great suggestions! Thanks. kiss

I think I've only read the full Dark Tower series twice. But I read books 1-3 many many times, before Wizard and Glass came out. The Wastelands is my favorite of the series by far. But I love the way King wrapped everything up.

Hearing something along the grapevine generally leaves you quoting Reservoir Dogs and thinking to yourself that just because you heard it somewhere doesn't necessarily making it fucking so...

But when all of your friends in human resources and all of your recruiters are essentially telling you that you won't hear hide nor hair about a job until the first of the year at the earliest...

I have serious sleep apnea...to the point i have a machine to make sure i breathe enough at night. I don't HAVE to use it, but i can tell when i haven't...which has been the last couple of days now. Pressure behind my eyes like that feeling of sleep deprivation that comes out after two or three days...
But the dreams have been ... intense....

Oh someone gave me a book of poetry by Rumi just a few weeks ago! That is a perfect little piece you quoted for me there. That is great to hear that you're enjoying writing so much lately, a passion makes life a thousand times more meaningful.

I thought having a cat all hopped up on drugs and doped out of its mind would be ... somehow not as disturbing as it actually is.
No i didn't do this to the cat myself.

She had to go into the vet for a dental appointment and they had to check and make sure she wasn't sick or diabetic...
can someone explain how a...

The trouble with writing more on my work in progress and job hunting...

is less blogging here.
I know. Tear.

But the good news is I've got a couple working outlines, viable characters, a somewhat decent storyline, and a vision to move forward, where two weeks ago I had nada. zilch. zero.

Even more conversations with the first ex-wife balanced against a visit or two...

Fuck it.
The ex's are coming out of the woodwork this week. Had another one get in touch, this one from high school.
Seems everyone from my past is popping up this time of year...and they all say the same thing...
(it's fun to take a trip...put acid in your veins...)
Wait. no. that's a sound bite from NIN's cover of Supernaught ...
What they...

I hate it when ex's randomly get back in touch. It always seems to lead to trouble. Maybe that's because most of my ex's are psychos though, haha.

Good luck with your book! I've been working on a novel for awhile now, if only I could find the time to finish it I'd be all set smile
annalee:
Thank you for sharing your story with me, that was so sad. I'm really sorry you had to lose a friend like that. It's so strange the things that seem to be impossible to deal with in life but we somehow just carry on anyway.

Unexpected.

That's the only way I can describe my ex's response to my having gotten back in touch. This is my first ex wife, perpetrator of perhaps the messiest ugliest divorce possible several years back.

She was...surprisingly pleasant and even remotely intrigued in hearing from me.

I know, I know, why did I get in touch?

Well because I've in the back of my mind...

Unsure of how I feel...
I've been waiting what apparently has been a LONG time for the latest Guns N Roses album to come out, and it's now streaming on Axl's myspace page.

I don't know how I feel about. I have to listen to it a few more times before I can decide if I'm hooked or if it's just whiny shite.

I listened to a few of the songs last night, liked a couple immediately, and wasn't sure yet about the others, but I will buy the album. I've always loved Axl's voice, and after "Oh My God" in 2000, I expected musical experimentation that may or may not be present.
While I'm glad to finally hear some new Axl, I almost wish the album hadn't come out, so it could just remain a myth and Mr. Rose could go down in history as some sort of Howard-Hughesian former genius who died without ever revealing his final masterpiece. Almost. tongue
