I've been putting this health update off but - despite the initial good news I got a few weeks ago, biopsy results were actually not great. Looks like my stomach lining is severely - potentially permanently? - damaged, so that's fun. I am looking at long term management vs treatment afterall. This is honestly still a better answer than I could have gotten, but I'm just processing a bit of whiplash after being given much more optimistic news than expected a week prior to the biopsy results.

I had some meds that were helping ease some of the pain/reactions to food, unfortunately had wildly adverse responses including narcolepsy and really bad disorientation. I got lost the other day, while walking on my street less than a block from my apartment which was kind of scary. 0/10, don't recommend.

Anyway, off the meds, and focusing on managing things via diet. My ability to tolerate food has been poor, I'm struggling to function at a caloric deficit and I'm sure I'm deficient on several nutrients too. I have insurance through work but it's not great and has not covered any of my lab work or surgical procedures, barely covers visits with my specialists, and basically I'm just hemorrhaging money trying to get myself healthy again. I'm supposed to avoid stress, but the financial aspect of this makes that kind of hard. But, not doing everything I can to heal is not a feasible choice for me either so. It is what it is.

Currently looking for a dietitian who can help me figure out how to get more calories/address the nutrient imbalance, and hopefully get back to a more consistent running/hiking routine. In the meantime, just kind of getting through day to day and doing what I can when I can.

I'm still running as I can, though mostly short and slow runs, which is carrying the entirety of my mental health right now 😂 and here's a few pictures from after my short lil run yesterday

Oh that has to be tough. I always feel so lucky to live in AU whenever i read stories like this. Just can’t imagine that level of expense when falling Ill especially for an ongoing condition.
