I'm now well over 500 miles into my Pacific Crest Trail hike 🙂
I got both a new tent, and a new pack. My old pack wasn't fitting correctly anymore and was putting pressure in uncomfortable places. I mailed it home in case it's better again in the future, but very happy with my new pack. Aaand my old tent was great but old and falling apart anyway, but the rain fly got shredded so made an upgrade before running into inclement weather. Have adjusted well and happily to both new pieces of gear, though not thrilled at how much they cost lol. (Gear replacement was accounted for in my budget, but didn't expect to have two big ticket items replaced so early. They should both last the rest of the trip and more though!)
Have been making some new friends 😁
Walked through Vasquez Rocks - filming location in a couple Star Trek films and several TV episodes (as well as Blazing Saddles and several other movies). Described by another hiker as "the Hollywood set with the most poison oak per square foot"
