so i'm sitting here eating my bowl of cookie crisp ceral and i'm looking at the box. i tried to think of the premise behind the cookie crisp characters. as i recall there was the cookie crook and his cookie dog and they would try to steal the cookie crisps. pretty simple, right. so then, the dog would get so excited that he would howl, "ca-ooooooooo-kie crisp" that would, in turn, alert the cookie cop who would come and take the crook to jail. and his little dog too. but i was looking at the box and it's just the dog on the cover. and he's not wearing his theif mask. he's just sitting there looking at the oversized bowl of cereal. here's a sample
so i did a little research on the ol' net here and it turns out they totally changed the commercial. so instead of being a criminal, he has now reformed and informs and influences children to eat cookies for breakfast. good for him. we can only hope the same thing happens for the trix rabbit and um, that coacoa puffs bird.

oh, also in my research i found out that in england, they have a different mascot. it's chip, the cookie cereal loving wolf. and he still does the "ca-ooooooooo-kie crisp" thing.
