With all of my complaining about the heat and humidity here lately, I have to say that it's on the verge of being a bit chilly here tonight. I love it! I would never have guessed that July in the South could feel so good.

Sahg

A friend from another board sent me this link for the group Sahg. They're a Doom Metal band from Norway. I have to say that I'm quite impressed. Give 'em a listen.

For my friends here who don't care for this type of music, then let me ask you, "How was your day?" smile

I'm just taking a break. That can be good too, and I have enough with pictures already to organize, and clean out, and sell. I just need a break, and just uh. But I'm fine. Just not very inspired at the moment + got lots of other things to do before taking more pictures too. My harddrives are FULL. skull
severus:
Yes, I've finally understood I can't do everything at once. Duh. And yes, it would be nice if you bought a picture sometime. It would look good at your place I'm sure, and I sure could need the $$$. miao!!

Anyone have any big concert plans this year? The only one I have on my plate so far is Ozzfest. Even though I'm really not all that crazy about this year's lineup, I'll still go with an open mind. Plus, it's always fun to people-watch, and I always strike up conversations with like-minded music fans.

Good times to be had. smile

I know some people (and by "some people" I mean elitist snobs) think they're shit, but they deliver the goods live.

Happy 4th of July!!!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday today. It'll be back to work for me tomorrow, but I'm ready and well rested.

we don't hate it that bad since he sponsors kitty cats in Rockwell, NC... but we do have other preferences, to be sure.
marksy:
I bought it today from the manufacturer, but it has to ship from Oregon, so I won't get to use it til Fri. or Sat. and I was in a "want it NOW"mood even if I had to pay $20-30 more to get it. Oh well.. look for a couple new pics of her after the weekend.

I'm greatly looking forward to a four day weekend. I haven't had one of those in such a long time. I'm gonna try and de-stress myself and recharge the batteries a bit. As much as I love my job and where I work, it's been rather stressful for the last few months...lots of project deadlines and inter-company changes. It kinda takes its toll after awhile....

It hit me today that tomorrow is the last day of June. What the hell? Where did half the year go? I've always heard that time passes more quickly as you get older, and I'm starting to believe it. surreal

I got two new cd's in the mail today. I went totally 80's Classic Rock this time: Escape by Journey and Bella Donna by Stevie Nicks. shocked
sindred:
Yeah...this year has flown by. I think it's because when you're a kid, even a college student, there are things that slow the year down, like waiting for summer vacation, waiting for Christmas vacation, etc. Plus you're not consumed with work. If you're busy at your job, the time flies, and every day starts to blend together. Oh shit, now I'm getting depressed. But when you're in school, the days go by slowly, you're learning stuff, experiencing new things, all that crap. Damn, now I'm ready to retire! tongue

Points for you on Stevie Nicks. I have her "Enchanted Works" box set. Journey is a guilty pleasure for me, but I don't know if I'd ever buy a CD of theirs...but give me time I guess. biggrin

If you ever decide to make the trip down here, you should schedule it around a show by The Breakfast Club. They play Amos' in Charlotte a lot, they're an 80s tribute band, more heavy on rock than pop. They're really great. smile
severus:
Thank you...

and.. Stevie Nicks love

I watched Memoirs of a Geisha last night, and it was a fantastic movie. The storyline was intriguing, the acting was outstanding and the cinematography was amazing. I would say it's a must-see for sure.

The Summer is typically my movie binge time on account of the annoyingly humid weather here during the months of July and August. All I wanna do during this time...

I haven't seen that movie... sometime I will. Haven't watched a movie in a long time actually. You wrote A/C and I just thought AC/DC. tongue
heavenandhell:
i really must watch that movie, i've heard so much about it, but haven't had the time to watch it.

as for recommending one, my all time favourite is donnie darko and i'm a sucker for the lord of the rings trilogy i'm afraid.

take care.

My love of Norwegian Black Metal has actually inspired me to try to learn to speak a little Norwegian. I bought myself a book awhile back entitled Norwegian in 10 minutes a day. How dorky am I right? It's certainly an interesting language, but it's kinda difficult at times. It has a lot of silent letters. For example, the word hvor (where) is pronounced...

Thanks for the add sunshine....and snap! with the learning languages to better appreciate the music I obsess over. Though my language of choice is German so that I can fully appreciate Nargaroth's Herbstleyd that much better....
necrolust249428:
I've been wanting to lear Norweigan as well. And you just told me some stuff about the language that I never knew before. I would have pronounced the j, in fact I think I have before, lol.

Maybe I'll get a book on it this weekend.

Date Movie

I saw this movie on DVD the other night and thought it was funny as hell! biggrin biggrin I actually watched it twice, and I caught things that I missed before. There are so many references to other movies in this one...My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Shallow Hal, Meet the Fockers, Along Came Polly, Napolean Dynamite...I could go on and on. You have to watch...

First day of Summer

Well, according to my calendar, today is the first day of Summer. I'm certainly no expert on the Summer Solstice and its offical dates. I know it can occur on either June 20th or the 21st. Anyway, the days begin to get shorter from here until the Winter Solstice. I always enjoy this period for some reason...the impending shorter daylight is...

I hate Daylight Savings Time cause it's fascist wink Who is the government to force us to spring forward, dammit!
But I do love summer. Summer nighttime is the best nighttime of the whole year, cause it's warm and balmy and all that good stuff. Damn, I wish I was at the beach right now! biggrin
sindred:
Yeah, that wedding's gonna be something. I think I'll buy myself a flask and wear a garter to hide it in, so I can guzzle Smirnoff or whatever to my heart's content. I imagine myself doing a full-out Courtney Love impersonation, flippin' people off in the photos and knocking the wedding cake over. Oops! Well, at least this is my only "normal" friend...so hopefully I won't be in this situation again. *crosses fingers*
