As it gets colder in Canada I usually start thinking about where I want to escape to later on in the winter. I didn't get to travel last year for obvious reasons and I'm not too sure if I feel comfy travelling this year but we'll see!
I've been thinking a lot about other places I've visited and my mind is always stuck on Chiang Mai, Thailand.
First of all, the city center always smells like good food and chai tea. 🤤 The country is absolutely beautiful and the people there are soo friendly and warm - they put us friendly Canadians to shame. 😂
The last time I visited Chiang Mai, I stayed and worked at the Elephant Nature Park and completely fell in love. Usually people pay to work with the elephants but I decided to do work with their 400+ rescue dogs instead and it was such an experience. I want to keep going back!
It was a ton of work trying to walk and tend to around 400 dogs but it was so rewarding to spend all day with these sweet babies. This short haired tan girl is named Buffel and I completely feel in love with her sassy and tender personality. If she's still there, I plan on adopting her when I get a chance to go back!
