The ice is finally melting here. Last night we lost power at our house for a while. Long enough to realise how much things suck without electricity. All night long ice and tree branches came crashing down everywhere we went. The sound was eerie.
At the beginning of this winter storm everyone was eager to greet any passer by out in the streets. Today everyone put back on their go fuck yourself faces. It is sad how thick our bounderies are. The other day this eighties butt rock fan talked my ear off in the checkout line at the market. It was great. He told me about the Journey DVD he got and something about pro-wrestling or monster trucks. It changed my life.

When I was in Seattle 6 years ago or so, I was in awe to see the cigarettes on the same kind of open shelves as candy bars. Here, they are locked behind plexiglass.
But that may have just been that one store.
