I went to Seattle last night and saw Pat Martino play. Unfortunatly the rythmn section sounded like shit.. fuckin' drummer wouldn't let anything breathe. I saw Pat play a couple of years ago in Kansas City in a duo. Just guitar and piano.. and it had pocket. Still good to see the old man though.. and Eric Klaus popped in. Klaus is a blind alto player and quite a mother fucker.
Driving back through the snow was beautiful. At first it was a treat.. looked like hyperspace with all the white streaks, but then the shit was sticking to the highway and coming down so fast that I only had about ten feet of visibility. Everyone was white-knuckling and starting to panic. The thought that I was about to be snowed in on the highway in sasquatch country crossed my mind.
Thank God i didn't have to blow some snow groder to get back home.
