Hey SG land! What is up? I hope that everyone is doing as well as you can.
I can't believe that it's been a year since my last blog. Time does fly when you're having fun and Melissa and I are all about having fun. We are smiling every day as our lives grow closer. She is so very good to me and so very good for me. I appreciate the hell out of her and everything that she does to enrich my life.
We have had a number of awesome adventures in the past year. We went to Florida last December to see my mom and spent four days at Disney World. We went back to Florida in February to surprise my mom for her 80th birthday. We pulled off the ultimate surprise. It was awesome! We rode our bikes to St. Louis for Memorial Day weekend and Wisconsin Dells for Labor Day weekend, not to mention getting in some day rides around home. We saw Jeff Dunham, Toto, Journey, Loverboy, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Joan Jett, Poison, Def Leppard and Motley Crue in concert. We went to Wisconsin Dells in March for my state pool tournament. Melissa cheered me on and kept me supplied with beers while I was playing. I managed to win some money in the singles and the team event. This past Sunday evening we went to a huge (28 acre) corn maze and managed to find all 24 of the check points. We have one more big adventure planned for the end of this year and that's a trip to Mexico. I can hardly wait. We are going to have an absolute blast.
In between all of our fun and adventures we have stayed plenty busy with trying to get the house in order and more organized. I officially moved into her place at the end of August. We decided that my having an apartment was no longer necessary since I hadn't been staying there for several months. We figured that August was a good time because it was just about a year since we started seeing each other. Our first date was September 9, 2021. The other big news is that this past Sunday, October 23rd, marked one year since I smoked my last cigarette. The love of a beautiful woman can be powerful inspiration.
Back at the start of May I took a transfer to another Harley dealer within our group. It was a promotion and came with a nice raise. I am still wrenching but I am also training two entry level technicians and forging the future of our industry. We have a pretty close knit family at this dealership. We are trying to build the business back up to where it was before Covid. I'm proud to say that I am an integral part of that rebuilding process.
