OK, in all honesty? the domesticity thing is getting me hot LOL. I love the scrapbook thing, geeky hobbies are awesome. I love to travel and am just getting to the point of being able to do it again - both having the cash and older kids. Starting young, I missed out on a lot of stuff my peers got to do and I'm making up for it now.

My mom's older (83 - I'm adopted) and recently had a heart attack - she's fine but she's moving a lot slower then she had been and I can see the writing on the wall - and it's pretty scary so I know - to a small degree - what you're going through.
Africa, wow, that sounds very cool. The next trip I want to take is to go back to Tuscany - I have some relatives there and the last time I went I was way too young to appreciate it.

We caught the lymphoma before it had started presenting a lot of symptoms, so the only illness I felt was due to the chemo. So yeah, December through March sucked. My kids received and understand a simplified explanation. I haven't brought up the subject of how it will probably come back. With any luck I'll have two years or so of remission, and they can get the "this usually comes back" speech if and when that happens. The good news is that, although tenacious, this lymphoma does respond to chemo more than once. And there is Bexxar once it stops responding to chemo. So the next decade could get interesting.
I'm a mechanical engineer. I run a small manufacturing company out of my home on SE 76th. I will probably put together an SG barbeque toward summer's end. I see you are in SGPDX. Whatever happens, I will post it there.

I just got back from Long Beach, WA where we went for a day to visit with my mom and her cousins. The weather was amazing and I actually played in the ocean a bit.

it's good that you got to see you son; i just saw my dad last night (and my step-mom too). i really should visit him and my little sis', nora, more often. and add to that that my dad's considering putting down dog max, who's been suffering from severe arthiritis for awhile now. so, enjoy your weekend and go see shrek 2!
