Hope that you had an enjoyable trip to Canada.

The cats were well behaved and all ate well - no missed meals and they ate most of the food each time too. Xander was a bit of a poacher for the special food, but was very predictable and easy to keep away from it.

khoos is having a tough go of it right now. She's exhausted, the baby is sapping all the energy out of her, she's not sleeping well and is just not generally her happy self. Go give her lots of love. I need the center of my world back.

In the words of the illustrious G.W. Bush, "mission accomplished". I'm sure you'll see to it that she has a great birthday.

got home about an hour ago. Left @ 2pm yesterday to go see Maebelline, left her inlaws at 6pm to return home. Long, weird trip home. Let's just say NJ gave up before I finally did.

No, I'm in Toronto now... can you message me details on the gala or a link to where I can find them? I keep hearing about it but still have no idea what it is.

Traveling must have been a horror show. Glad you made it home okay.

I almost went to Madison Square Garden to see Teena Marie perform last Mother's Day. I'd gone to a concert the previous weekend, so I couldn't handle the cost of seeing her perform. I love Beyonce, as well as Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston in their prime, but for my money, there will never be anyone quite like Teena Marie.

Very strange week. A lot of emotion, another household mechanical failure (heater this time), and an exchange of cash. Tomorrow is Christmas. Wednesday is khoos' birthday. Thursday night we leave for Ottawa for a long weekend. Then this year is over. While everything seems to have worked out in the end, this year was so up and down, I'm not sure I can deal...

Ryan says he's doing much better and is at home now, without the step-father thank god.

His step-father pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 35 years by the judge. As it turned out, the step-father also sexually assaulted the kid with his hand. The judge gave him 20 years for the initial physical assault, and an additional 5 years per finger that he used when he sexually assaulted his step-son. The fucker will have to register as a sex offender when he gets out...35 years from now because the judge also said no possibility for early parole.

Looong weekend.
Friday night was the company holiday party. I completely douched it too. I was supposed to be the DD and proceeded to get FUCKED UP. Not drunk, annihilated. Jack & Coke, tequila and Maker's Mark, followed by going home and smoking a bowl with Sharona1881 who was babysitting for us. Passed out on the couch, and eventually got to sleep for good when...

As far as I'm concerned, you could simply have skipped over everything else and posted the last two sentences and called it a day.

Good idea. I was thinking of posting them as an album, but your idea is better.

There are men in my attic installing reinforcing cables between the rafters to hopefully stop the walls from further bowing out. smile

I've decided to shit can the idea of the addition. My Realtor confirmed my suspicions that putting $100k into my house would take a really long time to get back. Not like I could have afforded it anyway. But at least I know I'm...

It's good to get confirmation from an "expert". You can always do the addition if the housing market ever gets better.

Contractor came and gave is an estimate on fixing the roof/wall and putting a second floor addition on the house. The addition is just framing the outside and the rooms (3br, 2bath), installing windows and siding and the stairs. The cost?

$90,000! Or, to break it down - $100/sq. ft.
That doesn't include the plumbing, electrical, drywall and paint.

Wow, that's a lot of money. This is probably not the time to assume that kind of expense, although I can imagine how great the house would look afterwards.

When the housing market loosens up, it would probably be worth doing this.

That's very true and something easy to over look in the midst of a crisis but I thank you for you words
