So i'm filling my time with stuff that I actually enjoy doing for the first time, pretty much ever. Whether it's solo or with other people it's pretty liberating after wasting so much time and money doing what alot of my peers want to do; drink cocktails and go to housewarmings virtually every weekend. It can be pretty good to do it on occasion, but more than anything, it's nice to feel like i'm starting to come into my own.
I know i'm guilty of it at times, but on the whole, that kind of monotony and mediocrity pisses me off.
Probably the most interesting thing i've been to in the last couple of months was a (kink) suspension; i've been to one before, but without the kink element. It was pretty interesting to see people-many who didn't know each other-in a fetish/borderline sexual context and it reminded me similarly of why I like piercing people so much. It's because you get the privilege of seeing them in a state that they wouldn't expose to 99.9% of people and although the suspendees can have a pretty harrowing time getting up, the fact that you get to share them doing so, when they get up, it's pretty awesome.
Other fun things have included seeing a pretty interesting burlesque performance with ava_jade and her lad; insane trapeze and stunts with milk and balloons aside, the best part was DEFINITELY watching audience members trying to act nonchalantly while one of the performers walked around naked directly in front of them
This week includes a nice gig where i will probably get totally squashed (it's kind of melt-your-ears hardcore, but it's good) and rollerderby on saturday.
Oh yeah, a friend was going to come except she's apparently broke. She's going to be drinking cocktails that night instead
Ah well........her loss, it's going to be a great night
