I just had the funniest end to a phone call, and really feel the need to share it with you guys...

was just chatting to my best mate chris, who is one of the happiest and clueless people I know.

he loves his music, but he gets very confused. he comes to gigs with me (he's one of my gig buddy regulars), cos he likes the social aspect, and likes having a loud punk band blowing his head off.

he has no musical history knowledge whatsoever...so I have been "trying" to educate him.

for his birthday, I got him "Story Of The Clash Vol 1" - I figured that he really needed some Clash in his growing collection of CDs. So I decided to check up to see if he had played the CD yet...

Me: How are you enjoying your Clash CD?

Chris: Yeah, its really good. Im surprised I actually recognised some songs on there.

Me: Oh right, excellent. Which ones?

Chris: Come On Eileen.

Me: Pardon?

Chris: Yeah, Come On Eileen Ive been dancing drunkenly to that at parties for years and never knew it was by The Clash.

Me: Your taking the piss right?

Chris: No, why?

Me: oh my god, are you serious? You know The Clash didnt do Come On Eileen right?

Chris: What am I thinking of then

Me: Hang on, Ill get the CD

Chris: Hmmmm.Oh, no I remembered..

Me: huh?

Chris: I meant Rock The Kasbah

DOH!
