what a week...!

I'm sorry, its a very long journal today - there are pics on my pics page to go with this too...

firstly, two nights of Bouncing Souls/Tsunami Bomb gigs, at Portsmouth and Islington.

as people may have realised over the last few months, the Bouncing Souls are by far my fave band, and I do whatever I can to see them as often as I can whenever they come over to the UK. Both gigs were excellent, they played the best I've ever seen them, playing a completely new and surprising set both nights. they were on top form, but then they were at the end of a three month long tour with Tsunami Bomb, who were also fantastic.

managed to miss TB whenever they've been over before, so it was cool to get to see them. and apart from their severe sound problems in london, they impressed me big time.
totally different from the records, they pull out all the stops live, and kick major arse!
plus singer AgentM has a fantastic voice, and shes a great frontwoman.

then onto the two SG Meets!

went to the Big London Meet on friday at The Ice Wharf in Camden. could only stay a couple of hours (due to the 'Souls gig), but i did my best to try and get to see everyone (but ended coming off like some hyperactive duracell bunny).

was excellent to get to see Vicky again after meeting her a couple of months ago at a cardiff meet. was great to catch up with her again.

we were quickly joined by my SGUK drinking buddy geronimo, and then they all piled in...and I'm getting lazy now, so in no particular order : Kinto_mE, Spike, Snodizzlejustin, Perversia, Wrathchild, Jamestar, mariana, abaddon, creamygoodness... *phew*

I actually got to have a proper chat with Nic, and finally got to meet Cherry, who did a great job in getting everyone down to the pub in the first place! It was excellent to meet her, even though I didn't get much of a chance to chat to her properly. Perhaps next time, eh?

and apologies must go to the other new SG Kate. I was so excited to meet her, but due to her lack of access to the site at the moment, she had no idea who a lot of us nutters were! just what she needed, a highly excitable, slightly drunk member gibbering in her ear!!

Saturday started with a MASSIVE hangover and onto "Geronimos Big Head" pre-pre Xmas beers in The Ship, the best punk rock pub in the West End.

Met geronimo at 4, and proceeded to drink more alcohol, to try and stave off the hangover.
a good time was had by all, geronimo providing the entertainment by bringing along "Pass The Parcel" filled with loads of groovy pressies!

we had a good turnout again, with many of the previous nights party animals coming out again.

two final comments...

I got to see Vix again - another of my Cardiff Meet buddies. as with Vicky, I hadn't seen her for ages, and it was so cool meeting up with someone from my first SG meet all those months ago.

and NickySonic, wherever you are...you are a true gent, and I'm glad i got meet up with you again. I hope you make your way back...
