phew - back from Florida (and my holiday) and straight back into the fray...
without pausing for sleep after the flight, I saw Rancid at Brixton Academy on Friday night, which was great cos I got to see my bestest gig-buddy who I had missed like crazy while I was in orlando, cos shes ace!
Rancid were surprisingly great though - haven't seen them for 5/6 years or so, and they put on a fab, all-the-hits show. However, since Tims trouble with Ms Brody Distiller, he seems to have handed over the frontman reins to Lars, who had the best time ever - he just seems to live "to be punk" - it was definately the Lars show on Friday. anyhoo, I overcome my knackerdness for a good bit of jumping about, only hampered by a feeling of vomiting during "Roots Radicals"...
onto saturday, and possibly one of the best shows I've seen by Alkaline Trio. However, they were proceeded by local Kingston Boys Fletcher, who were great as usual (check out the album "My Revenge"). Hot Water Music were also great, but Alkaline Trio did the job big time. totally slick, firing on all cylinders, and played a mixture of old and new stuff. They also played my fave track "Hell Yes", which I've never seen them do live.
ended up with them playing the fantastic "Radio", with Hot Water Music, who took over playing the song while the 'Trio buggered off - weird!
tattoed skinny boy Matt Skiba is a god - the man is awesome (and he wears green converse)!
so, a good weekend to finish off the holiday...back to work on monday...poo!
for those of you dropping by - I will be at the Cardiff meet on the 3rd...
take care y'all!
ps - added a couple of new pics today...nothing that exciting though...

We'll be coming up on the Thursday morning to book in to a hotel, and we'll be going home on Saturday evening. May as well make a weekend of it, eh?
