you know that part in the side bar where it asks for 5 things you can't live without?
If #1 isn't electricity you're kidding yourself.
My power just came back on after 48 hours due to a snowstorm (and btw we rarely, if ever, get snow here).
Since I live in the country, no hydro means no heat and no water and next to no food as everything in my fridge is ruined.
I'm still not exactly sure how I'm going to deal with the food shortage as my driveway is 1.5 kms long and is buried in 60 cm of snow. I spent 6 hours shoveling snow today - miracle that I even have a snow shovel - and I got about 5% of it done.
The nearest food store will take about 2-3 hours to walk to....
Just now though it occured to me a tow truck might be able to get up the driveway.
Maybe I can get my car dragged out to the nearest major road....
At least I don't have to go to work

I have a love/hate relationship with snow. Actually, it's mostly hate.
