WTF is up with my dreams lately?
Does anyone know how to quickly induce brain damage so I don't have to think about them anymore????

An ice pick will do it.

Ugh, miserable. For some reason, you made me think of the movie Pi.

By chance, a buddy and I were reading the The Wall by Sartre. A week later we ended up discussing it and randomly discovered that we each had sleeping issues after reading it (and, for some weird reason, urges to clean... which is in no way connected to the story).

I'm being punished for mocking this year's flu shot hysteria.

Missed 4 days of work but I'm not having any fun.

Well I spent most of this weekend mixing codiene and red wine and playing way too much Ultima Online.

My stomach says "Fuck You" but somehow I feel all back together again.

My employer is convinced I'm responible for the wicked act of sabotage mentioned a few days ago.
I'm not!
But nonetheless they're furiously busy dreaming up excuses to fire me.
I got sent home today for "suspected drug use".
Why, because I was unpacking boxes of new stock today and came across this gem
I just could not stop giggling over this.
Perhaps I should...

Snow Birds Eh??? They are a good bunch of guys to work with. They have even promised me a ride every now and then biggrin As for the military family stuff..... it runs in my family, but stopped at my dad. I felt that I owed it to the family to get back into it and have even convinced my little sister to join (as much as my parents don't like it).

As for Victoria, my friend may be getting posted out to Comox or Esquimalt so I may be out there within 6 months wink

Although I more or less like my job (I'm a bookseller) , I work for a souless, ungrateful tyrant who makes enough money in about 6 hours to pay my wages for three years.
Apparently I'm not the only one there feeling a little disrespected.

Something awesome happened yesterday: someone (an employee) destroyed the store's server and all the backups.
All the inventory info: gone....

What an act of sabotage! To bad that you have to pay for it now. So, how many books were in the database?

D.C. is a fun place to visit, but I hated living there. Such a miserable place, with some equally miserable people.

Victorias nice. Im in Edmonton right now.

Wow this always happens.
I was hating the sight as a result of morons in the politics threads (which dispite my best efforts I can't seem to stay away from).
I posted this bitter, caustic rant which I later edited and within a few days I bump into some cool folks with similar abstract interests.

I need to learn to look more and judge less.

It seems as though many artists weren't very nice in person.

Yes, I knew it was the golden mean wink Which actually played a key role in the movie PI. Have you seen it?

I try to avoid the politics threads as much as possible. Things here are nice as long as I keep within my little isolated world of friends and groups. Much as in real life smile

That's interesting, how did you learn about this music? Would you recommend it?

I think I've had it.

Yes, Abstract Impressionism is also an interest of mine. I guess you weren't around when I had a piece of a de Kooning painting as my profile pic, eh? It's still somewhere in the "random" folder.

Abstract Expressionists tend to be my fav too. I love to get all psychoanalytic on that stuff.

People haven't been very nice to me lately so I've been on a bit of a "the world sucks and I hate everyone" trip.

I was driving home tonight from an incredible Algerian music performance (!) and my cranky ol' VW bus snapped the accelerator cable.
It was amazing how many people stopped and offered assistance.
It was like they were falling out of the...

I just did some work for one of Shorty's owners last night and he is adding 7 or 8 pins in his new bar. He is thinking of setting up a pinball league, one for Belltown and one for Georgetown (parts of Seattle, you know).

He is adding Quick Draw, Prize Fight... can't remember what else. I know he has a warehouse with Pac Man, 8 Ball Deluxe and Centaur in storage. To many games, not enough space.

This new house gets odder everyday.
I'm not normally one to fall for such things but everytime my band plays we all swear we can hear a baby crying upstairs but it stops when we stop.
Today my GF was at home (usually she's smart enough to vacate on practice days) and after we were playing a half hour or so she comes down to...

I love pinball.

In Seattle here there is a pinball bar, Shorty's.

They have 12 games all the time with a rotating stock every couple months. Right now they have Twilight Zone, Dr. Who, Revenge From Mars, 1776 (first game with digital score display), Flash Gordon, Jack-Bot, Medieval Madness, River Raft, Elvira, Lord Of the Rings and some old 60's spaceship thing. The games are all in excellent condition cos one of the owners of the bar works on them. He doesn't sub that work out, so if there's a problem it is sorted out within a day. In fact, Shorty's has a pinball tournament every year. It is in November. I entered last year and placed about 30th out of 64. The last two people play on a machine that no one else has played in the tourney and the winner keeps the machine.

Plus, Shorty's owners are opening a new place, so that place will have more pinball.

I like the late 70's/ early 80's games best. I think the Pac Man game is my fave.

Check out the tour section on the Shorty's site to see the bar and games. It is a little more lit up in the photos. It is a great punk rock bar with all sorts of people.
