So yesterday I was bopping around after work doing errands and I heard a Bob Dylan song. I'm really not a fan at all, but I liked the lyric: "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now". That is awesome, and totally sums up the way I feel since leaving my miserable ex-career of pervert therapist. Then, today I read all my...

I wish I had HALF the discipline and focus that you do, my dear. I would be so much better off. Good luck with the detox and keep your eyes on the prize.

My problem is all the surplus calories in wine.
Public lecture last night. V. nervous. went well, but heartrate so high when I got home I knocked back a whole bottle of Yarra cabernet then started the next...

Lyrics? Thanks Craig and Charlie reid.

The drink that I had three hours ago
Has been joined by fourteen others
In a steady flow
So let me walk straight, don't let me feel pain
I'm gonna scratch cars with my keys again
Cos when I go home and fall on my bed
If it doesn't leave my stomach it'll split my head

My head feels like a damn raisin at present and the only nsolution I can see is to start all over again. I'll break my bike when I get on it tomorrow morning...

I'm feeling pretty random after my workout.

Some days I feel like this:

Playing in the dirt
We find the seeds of doubt
Don't water them with your tears
Don't think about all the years
You'd rather be without

Some days I feel like this:

Want to put my arms around you, feel your breath in my ear.
You can bend me, you can break...

Keep the beans in the fridge and grind it yerself. It makes a big difference to the flavour
I like Java. Strong and kinda nutty without getting too sour, but a good French roast works for me too.
Two expresso's on an empty stomach followed by a couple of hours on the bike will get the weight off pretty quickly after a pie fest.
Maybe I idolise Jan too much...
campag:
If you're going to do the coffee/empty gut routine, take some snack with you (or some cash if you live in bakery central) coz you can bonk pretty bad, which is nasty far from home puke

I just bought a coffee grinder and press online. Now I need to buy some coffee beans. What are your faves and why?

Suggest a bean to me, jellybeans

I like this one and this one..

The roasts are fairly light and do not overwhelm as some do. And they taste great!

It's raaaaainning again...

wasn't that a line from an 80's song? Just that snippet is stuck in my head and I can't remember the rest.

OH WAIT!! Supertramp? Yeah, I think that's it.

So work is work-like. Two jobs, one from 9-12, the other from 12-5:30 (they are literally a block apart). I like the variety of the two, but find that I am not...

depends on what you like....Capote is good. if you want something really hard try Oldboy (you've been warned). on th eother end of the spectrum try A Very Long Engagement. when all else fails, i go for Kurosawa. stay dry.
shesinparties:
I thought Capote was really dull, didn't tell much about him, just focused on the time he was writing In Cold Blood, and i knew all that shit to start with. Shopgirl is good, Steve Martin is great. Whalerider rocks as well.

I woke with this Jah Wobble oldie but goody in my head this morning:

I'm not numbed out anymore
no longer filled with hate and pain
no longer drenched in shame
I'm not numbed out anymore
now I hold the key to the door

the kingdom of heaven lies inside
makes a cirlce with the turning tide
now the circle is complete
when the heart...
