So my little brother left for boot camp on Tuesday. He joined the Air Force. Wednesday we got a voicemail from him. It was so strange. You could tell he was reading off a paper and he was speaking really fast like he had no time. It just really freaked me out. I know it's nothing but fuck man. I don't really know how to explain what exactly is so upsetting to me. Cuz it's not like I'm all "oh my god he's gonna go to war and die." and the people i've talked to say that the Air Force boot camp is nothin and Air Force is the place to be and blah blah blah. There's just something buggin me.

It also really sucks that He is supposed to graduate August 16 and I probably most likely cannot be there.

Little things like that suck ballsack.

I'm also surprised of how well thought out this all seems to be to him. He told me Monday night that he signed up for 6 years active duty and 2 years reserve. I guess the norm is 4 and 4. He says it's cuz he figures he can get four years of schooling done while he's active and then he still has four years free after that. And you get promoted faster and have a better chance of getting a job you want because you're committed for longer.

This all came from my little brother. I was very surprised. in a good way.

I saw a friend off to Marine boot camp .. and I remember hearing about the phonecall afterwards, and yeah, same thing. I guess that's a really weird thing, and seems scary and creepy, but it'll be so much better afterwards. And the promotion thing will be -so- good for him. Lots of my friends are coming out of service now .. and all of those first decisions they make end up being very worth it.

Chin up -- it'll be better for him. <3 But I feel you. I'm super protective of my little brother [he's not so little.. 17, but still] -- so I know how weird it is. When they start growing up.

I know this is random. But. Anyway. xo
