Very glad to hear you and your mom had a good Christmas together. And you did the right thing - this is a day of peace, not beef. Sounds like they were trying to extend an olive branch, but you're completely in your rights to blow them off. And even if you didn't, no guarantees how strong / weak that olive branch would be, and you don't want to bother with that crap again.
I'm glad that Christmas was good to you. It was pretty good here too.
I'm also glad it's over and I fully remember having to deal with those after Christmas assholes. It sucked and I'm glad I don't have to do it anymore. I am so sorry that your mom has cancer. Especially just after beating skin cancer. My mom had cancer this year and I have an aunt that is a breast cancer survivor and now is a counselor.
