What are you supposed to do when you have reasons to believe that your younger sister may be depressed and thinking of hurting herself? Sometimes I think that's it all just a "teen-angst" act, other times I think there's some truth behind it. When did she suddenly believe that the world owes her something?

ASK HER! You won't push her towards it and you will allow her an outlet if she should choose to use you as one. If you approach her in a non-judgemental fashion and just be ready to listen, she might open up to you. She might just push you away but that's ok too. If she says yes to suicide then ask her if she has a plan and if she does, assess whether it's realistic and if she has the means. That will allow you to guage how concerned you should be.
Depression in teens is under reported and is a significant health issue.
Let her know you care and are ready to listen. As darkbunny suggested, a good adolescent psych might be appropriate if she is depressed and is open to the suggestion. There are other options avail as well.

So....I have a new obsession! It's collecting every single NIN halo that was ever released. Luckily I work at a music store, which makes my access to these elusive halos that much easier, Too bad that people are reluctant to give up their halos, which makes finding them used harder - and I don't like spending upwards of $20 on a CD if I can...

I think this summer, what I might do rather than just get a second part time job, is volunteer someplace. I was thinking at an abortion clinic, because that would be interesting, but sadly I'm not quite sure how to go about volunteering somewhere....I only know how to get jobs. I suppose it would be the same....Then I'll just ask for more hours at work...
