let's see here, anything interesting going on?
i begin my student teaching experience next monday. i prefer not to think about my responsibilities too long before they happen because i just tend to worry myself over nothing.
it should be a good experience. it'll be in a middle school technology class. i don't plan on teaching middle school when i get an actual position. i prefer high school but middle school as well as community or junior college will be available options.
i like the idea of high school because it is such a great societal microcosm. some say they prefer to teach elementary because that is where a child can be "molded." i tend to disagree. the experiences i had in my mid to late teen years had a significant influence on who i am today.
i don't want to "mold" anyone anyway. i'd love to provide opportunities and experiences that will help someone change and grow but i have no interest in controlling anyone. that's another reason i like high school. there is an abundance of influences and experiences to be exposed to. a majority happen outside the classroom. even if you hate school or if you attend class as minimally as possible, high school continues to play a strong role in your life.
i don't suppose that was too interesting to anyone but me. that's what journals are for, right?

anyway, you totally SHOULD come to SGLA's disney extravaganza...and yes, it IS going to be an extravaganza. seriously can you see the looks on the cast members and tourists when a whole big bunch of freaks are walking around the park talking about pirates(most likely) and the dirty talk threads?
