It's a little weird. I've got all these old friends who are settling down, making a place, accumulating debt and material goods. I almost did the same thing. I've been in Sac for a month. I know that I'm not ready to settle. There's a world out there. So I'm going to the hills to work. I'll have hardly any technology to keep me company aside from battery powered appliances and a camp stove. I'll have no computer, phone, or TV. I won't even have a mirror. Might as well let my beard grow. Hope I won't have to fight a mountain lion. I'll come away stronger and more financially sound for a moment. Then I'll be going to Thailand, Japan, or maybe back to Brasil. I'm 27. If I don't do it now I may never have the chance again. Of course, I may be trading my retirement for now if I don't hurry up and start a career. Maybe I'll buy some beachfront property somewhere beautiful.
